our mission
To distribute food to the most vulnerable people of the South Peninsula Valley during the Covid19 crisis, including Masiphumelele, Ocean View & Redhill. We are enabling donors to make deposits through a dedicated SA bank account, used solely for Covid19 donations. These funds will be allocated in alliance with local feeding schemes and Community Action Networks, to swiftly purchase and distribute food to those most at risk in the valley.
teamwork
Feed Our Valley was an initiative launched by Sally
Berg, a Redhill resident, as a swift response to
Covid19. Feed our Valley is now supported by the
Valley Food Security Committee, local CAN networks, and volunteers who are working together to buy much needed food and distribute it as quickly and fairly as possible. The initiative will have governance from the Valley Food Security Committee, which is led by Dr. Jo Hunter Adams - a food security & public health researcher. Each week they will meet to assess resources and needs and respond accordingly.
community
The most vulnerable people in our communities who need food support during this crisis.
Many live hand to mouth or with ‘no work no pay’ status. Government support is scarce at best and people are hungry - Feed our Valley are able to respond quickly to needs and buy bulk food at good prices and get it to the local soup kitchens who are doing an amazing job supporting their communities . Feed our Valley fully supports the kitchens in the Redhill Settlement to produce a hot meal 6 days a week to EVERY one of the 3,000 residents!
WE CONTINUE A FULL OPERATION TO GET FOOD TO VULNERABLE PEOPLE DURING THE COVID -19 CRISIS
